Congregate Meals:
Congregate meals are offered twice a week at two nutrition sites located in Brunswick and Medina for county residents aged 60 and over. Meals are served at 11:30 a.m. You must pre-register in order to participate in this program and reservations are required. There is a suggested donation of $2.00 per meal.
Medina:
Meals provided Tuesday and Thursday at: Medina County Senior & Adult Services, 246 Northland Drive, Ground Floor, Medina, Ohio.
Brunswick:
Meals provided Wednesday and Friday at the Brunswick Recreation Center, 3637 Center Road, Brunswick, Ohio.
Monday, Wednesday and Friday Lunches at the Medina Senior Center:
Monday lunch at the Medina Senior Center is a house-made soup and sandwich combo for $2.00. Lunch is served at 11:30
Wednesday lunch is part of our Lunch and Learn series. Lunch is provided by the sponsors of the program. The normal $3.00 charge for this program is currently being covered by the Medina County Senior and Adult Foundation. Lunch and Learn begins at 11:00am unless noted otherwise on our monthly calendar.
Friday lunch is a full meal made in-house for $5.00. There is usually some sort of program, holiday party or other event scheduled with this lunch. Programs begin at 10:30 or 11:00am (check calendar); lunch is served at 11:30am. Monday, Wednesday and Friday lunches are served to those 55 and older.
Wadsworth Soprema Cafe and Restaurant Voucher Program:
The cafe is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and is open to the public.
The Restaurant Voucher Program is provided to the residents of Wadsworth City, Wadsworth Township, Sharon Township, Guilford Township, and in Montville Township, east of I-71. This program entitles participants to receive anywhere from one to 12 vouchers per month to be used at the Soprema Senior Center and Café, 617 School Drive, Wadsworth, Ohio. Vouchers are redeemed for either a hot meal or a sandwich. Fruit, vegetables and milk are also part of the restaurant voucher. There is a suggested donation of $2.00 per meal. Vouchers can be redeemed Monday through Thursday from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm.
Home Delivered Meals:
This is a program for home bound seniors aged 60 and over who live independently. An in-home assessment is required to determine eligibility. Basic requirements include:
- Client must be at least 60 years of age
- Unable to prepare his/her own meals and lacking meal support
- Homebound (unable to drive or leave home for regular social activities)
- Living alone or with an eligible spouse or other eligible client
- Each client will be evaluated on an individual basis
Hot meals are delivered Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. An additional frozen meal is delivered on Tuesday to provide for Wednesday’s lunch. A $2.00 donation per meal is requested.
