Housing & Community Services – Housing Weatherization & Repair
Description of service/program:
The Ohio Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) provides eligible Ohioans with assistance to improve the energy efficiency of their homes and reduce energy costs. Ohioans participating in the HWAP program will receive a home inspection to identify the services necessary to improve their home’s energy efficiency.
Utility Efficiency Programs – Eligible Ohioans with regulated utilities will receive a home inspection to identify the services necessary to improve their home’s energy efficiency.
The Home Maintenance and Repair (HMR) program provides assistance with specific health and safety issues for homeowners. The eligible repairs include roof repairs, electrical issues, no hot water, no heat, and handicap accessibility.
Service limitations (income, geographic, hours, etc):
HWAP Qualifications: Total household income at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines.
Utility Efficiency Programs Qualifications: Total household income at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines for Dominion East Ohio Gas, AEP, and Ohio Edison users and at or below 150% for Columbia Gas.
HMR Qualifications: Total household income at or below 125% of the federal poverty guidelines and must be a homeowner.
